Estabena (The Mediterranean Sea music project), was founded in march 2017 by musicians from Egypt, Morocco, France and Italy. We perform popular songs from several Mediterranean countries: Morocco, Egypt, France, Italy, Greece, Tunisia, Lebanon, Algeria and more. Estabena is an Egyptian slang word originally borrowed from Italian, which means "we agree".
The group is based in Cairo and gave its first show at Dawar Cultural Center in March 2017. Since then, we have been performing monthly in Room Art Space & Café and in several other venues in Cairo (Dawar, Gramophone, Bab 18, El Damma Theatre) and in Egypt (Taba, Dahab, Port-Saïd, Alexandria…).
