Sanaa Moussa (Palestine)


Sanaa Moussa was born in the Palestinian village Deir Al-Asad in the Galilee. Her father is a well known musician and singer who professed at singing folkloric songs of Syria, Egypt and Iraq. That was the trigger for Sanaa’s connection to classical Arabic music and in particular the Palestinian folk.

Sanaa's songs can be categorized under Classic genre, as she strives to preserve folkloric singing and pass it across generations through her musical performance “Ishraq”.

In 2003 she received training and performed at Oriental Music Center. In 2004, she started performing classic and folkloric songs in several festivals in the Arab World and Europe. She started “Naw Athar” band in 2008. The band presents folkloric and classical songs in new arrangements while maintaining their oriental flavor.
