Selections from the Ballet Don Quixote
Don Quixote is one of the world’s most beloved classical ballets, inspired by the famous novel by the Spanish writer Miguel de Cervantes. With music by Ludwig Minkus and original choreography by Marius Petipa, the ballet is set against a lively Spanish backdrop and follows the love story of Kitri and Basilio as they overcome obstacles to be together, while the dreamer knight Don Quixote pursues his idealistic adventures.
Renowned for its vibrant energy, dazzling technique, and joyful music, Don Quixote features some of ballet’s most celebrated moments, including the famous Grand Pas de Deux. The ballet remains a timeless symbol of joy, romance, and the triumph of love.
