Sadiq and his family live a miserable life due to bullying. This is a result of a genetic defect passed down from their great-grandfather, causing all members of the family to live their lives in reverse. They are born as children but with the features and characteristics of old people, and they end their lives as elderly people in the bodies of infants. The story follows Sadiq and his family's journey as they try to find a cure to relieve their suffering and the bullying they endure. This comes after they meet a doctor who suggests a treatment involving the birth of a new child from whom they can obtain a specific gene that might help cure them, or obtaining the original gene from their great-grandfather. During this difficult journey, they ultimately fail to find a cure. In the end, Sadiq decides to live contentedly with his family, accepting their situation after the journey has changed many of his misconceptions.
