Khansa Batma (Morocco)

Khansa Batma was born in Casablanca. She joined the Casablanca Conservatoire at the age of nine.
Khansa Batma embarked on the music scene in 2001 with her first album entitled “Sharq wa Gharb” which featured folkloric Moroccan songs with European instruments arrangement, and songs from the World Heritage with Moroccan rhythms.

In 2003, she released her second album “Ala Abwab El Sahra” or (On the gates of the Desert), a collection of songs describe a lost soul’s journey from southern Spain to Sudan and through Northern Africa. Her third album “The Dark Album” achieved great success among young people. Batma’s songs bring together Arabic and Moroccan rhythms blended with Rock.
